「佛教慈善團體在首都」斗大的標題落在尼泊爾當地最暢銷的英文報《喜馬拉雅時報》上，慈濟在尼泊爾發放、義診的行動，受到尼泊爾當地媒體的注意。另外，尼泊爾文第一大報－－《加德滿都郵報》（The Kathmandu Post，舊名康塔普爾郵報）亦有大篇幅的報導。
喜馬拉雅日報：慈濟是源自臺灣的國際慈善組織
慈濟行動受到當地媒體的注目，在《喜馬拉雅時報》的報導中，除了介紹慈濟是全球性的非營利組織外，並描述慈濟在最短的時間內成立「慈濟賑災協調中心」，同時派遣「賑災醫療團」提供受災鄉親醫療與手術服務的歷程，也強調「關懷未曾停歇」。
“The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, a Taiwan-based international non-profit organisation, has sent a relief and medical team to earthquake-affected areas to support survivors. According to a statement issued by Shih Cheng Yen today, founder of the BTCF, Tzu Chi’s first relief and medical team arrived in Nepal with members from Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Philippines and the United States to provide aid to the needy.”“The foundation, established in 1966 by 30-year-old female monk Dharma Master Cheng Yen, aims to maintain the dignity of victims of natural disasters in the way that food is distributed and also by getting victims to help each other, the statement added.”
媒體詳列物資清單 介紹慈濟發放
除了《喜馬拉雅時報》，美國聯合通訊社（Associated Press，簡稱美聯社AP）也在5月10日的報導中，特別提到國際性組織慈濟基金會在尼泊爾地震災區，提供鄉親米糧、食用油、牙敲、牙刷、毛巾等生活物資： “People waiting in line received a sack of rice, lentils, cooking oil, toothpaste, brush and a towel by members of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, one of the many international organizations that have been working to help people in Nepal.”
慈濟在尼泊爾地震後首次舉辦的大型發放，發放日之前，《加德滿都郵報》即專闢版面，公告發放時間；發放後，該報亦頭版報導，災民領取物資的狀況，並刊登災民名單。此次發放將針對七千多戶的災民，提供包括大米、油、糖等物資，大小戶的量各有分別。至5月11日止，慈濟賑災醫療團共出發三個梯次、八十一位醫護與志工，目前仍有七十人在災區進行慈善援助與醫療服務。慈濟賑災醫療團難行能行，在尼泊爾的賑濟行動雖然困難重重，但仍步步踏實突破考驗，在發放中受到國際媒體的注意與肯定，也期望透過更多的報導讓全球持續共同關心尼泊爾災民。
